There are two main types of PvP in Guild Wars 2 called World PvP and Structured PvP.
World vs. World
The World PvP (or the world vs. the world) will allow you to play with characters of any level, using the skills you possess right now. Through the Sidekick System, as a group, your level will be compared to that player’s highest level. The WvW is destineted to be a bridge between PvE and structured PvP. Will be on a larger scale compared to the original Guild Wars 1 PvP battles (a model PvP that remind classic RvR) with the territory on a large scale, with a variable number of players and with players coming and going.
Every week we will select the three worlds (servers) for a competition in WvW. Players of three worlds will compete themselves to get possession of as many strategic points as possible and gain objectives of the clash, among the possible targets there are: taking guard towers, defend checkpoints, assault a castle. The battles take place in the Mists. For each world is assigned an area of the map with castles, camps, mines, mills, towns and villages. In the lands not assigned there will be other mines, forts and villages. This will be important to ensure the supply of resources for their own camps. At the end of the week the world winner of the bonus will drop as temporary, with better energy regeneration or other bonuses of various kinds, and there will be a new selection to choose other worlds that will participate at the WvW. You can change the world if you wish, but with limitations to prevent the continuous mass displacement of dominant players in the world.
Structured PvP
A Difference of WvW, the structure will then pvp players to come into play at the highest level with all skills, and all items unlocked automatically. There are two main choices: Pick-up Tournaments and Play “pick up and play.”
The tournaments will be similar to current Guild Wars GvG, where organized teams of five elements challenge with the same terms through a system of tournaments.
The Pick-Up Play instead allow individuals or groups to join a game on the maps, space and other parameters, it will have a variable number of components in the team that will be greater than that of the tournaments, you can also enter \ exit the current game! There will also be a ranking (Ladder) based on the statistics of the players.
